Confirmation statements
What is a CS01?
CS01 is the Companies House form number for a confirmation statement. Filing a CS01 and filing a confirmation statement are the same thing.
We prepare that form from the details you send and file it with Companies House.
What is a confirmation statement?
A confirmation statement is the yearly filing a UK company sends to Companies House. It confirms that the public record is still correct, and it can update certain information such as SIC codes and shareholder details.
It replaced the annual return in June 2016. It is not the company’s accounts. We prepare the statement and file it with Companies House. The confirmation statement service explains what is included.
When is a confirmation statement due?
It is due within 14 days of the end of the company’s review period. The review period is usually 12 months, starting at incorporation or the day after the last confirmation statement.
It can be filed during the review period. There is no need to wait for the last day. The deadline guide explains how to find the date on the public record.
What happens if a confirmation statement is late?
Unlike accounts, a late confirmation statement does not attract an automatic late-filing penalty. It is still an offence for the company and its officers not to file.
Companies House can chase the company and, if filings stay outstanding, start the process to strike it off the register. If yours is due or overdue, order it and say so in the notes.
How much does a confirmation statement cost?
The total is £59.99. That is a £9.99 service fee for preparing and filing, plus a £50 Companies House fee. Both lines are shown before you order. There is no extra charge on this site.
The split is on the pricing page.
Is a confirmation statement the same as company accounts?
No. Accounts report the company’s finances and have their own filing deadline and late-filing penalties. A confirmation statement checks the company record: officers, people with significant control, SIC codes, statement of capital, and the registered office details already on file.
We do not file accounts. If accounts are also due, your accountant or you still need to file them separately.
Is a confirmation statement the same as an annual return?
The annual return was the old yearly Companies House form. From 30 June 2016 it was replaced by the confirmation statement. If someone asks for an annual return, they almost always mean the confirmation statement.
Does a dormant company need a confirmation statement?
Yes. A dormant company still has to file a confirmation statement at least once a year, even if it has not traded. Dormant accounts are a separate filing, and this service does not prepare them.
What is the company authentication code?
It is the 6-character code Companies House uses to authorise online filing. It is not the company number. Put it on the order form. We use it only to file the confirmation statement.
Companies House explains where to find it, or how to request a reminder, on GOV.UK: company authentication codes (opens in a new tab).
What is a director’s Companies House personal code?
It is the 11-character code a director gets after identity verification at Companies House. From 18 November 2025, a confirmation statement is not accepted until every director’s personal code is included.
Add one code per director on the order form, with the name and date of birth that match the register. A director can share their code with an agent who is filing for the company. Companies House explains the code on GOV.UK: personal codes (opens in a new tab).
What if a director has not verified their identity yet?
They need to complete Companies House identity verification before a personal code exists. We cannot file the confirmation statement until every director’s code is on the order.
The same GOV.UK personal code guidance (opens in a new tab) explains how a director gets a code. Send the order once you have a code for each director.
What if our officers or registered office have changed?
Say so on the order. Some updates, such as SIC codes and shareholder information, can go in with the confirmation statement. Appointing or removing a director, or changing the registered office, is usually a separate form.
The £59.99 covers the confirmation statement only. We will tell you what else is needed before we do any further work.
Your Confirmation Statement filled for you
Yes. Send the company details and pay £59.99 on the order page. We file the confirmation statement with Companies House. If anything is missing or needs a fix, we email you.
That total is a £9.99 service fee plus the £50 Companies House fee. The steps are on how it works, and you can start from the order form.
Is this a filing portal?
No. This is a done-for-you service. You send the details and the fee. We prepare the confirmation statement and file it with Companies House.
Ordering and payment
Who actually files with Companies House?
We do. After you pay, we submit the confirmation statement electronically to Companies House. If they reject it, or a detail is missing, we email you.
When do I pay, and can I pay by card on this site?
You pay £59.99 on the order page, with the details. That is a £9.99 service fee plus the £50 Companies House fee. Checkout charges that total in one go. We file after that payment, and we email you if anything is missing or needs a fix. Do not type card numbers into the notes or send them by email.
How long does it take?
Once the details are complete and payment is in, we usually file within a few working days. Companies House often accepts a digital confirmation statement quickly, but that timing is theirs. We do not sell a same-day slot.
What if Companies House rejects the filing?
We tell you what happened. If the problem is a clerical mistake in a filing we prepared from correct information, we correct it and resubmit. If the information itself was wrong, we need the right details from you.
Can my accountant order for me?
Yes. Choose “Accountant or agent” as the role and use the contact details of the person we should write to. The company details still need to be the company’s, not the firm’s, unless that firm really is the company being filed.
Are you a law firm, an accountant, or part of Companies House?
No. confirmation-statement.co.uk is a filing service for confirmation statements. It is not a law firm, an accountancy practice, or a department of Companies House, and nothing on this site is legal or tax advice.
Can I cancel?
Yes, before the filing goes to Companies House. Use the contact form and quote the order reference. The terms explain what happens to the service fee and the Companies House fee if a filing has already been paid for.
More detail is on the confirmation statement page and the deadline guide.
